I am a Los Angeles based film and commercial set decorating shopper. I love to travel, but being freelance, it seems whenever I have the time to travel, I don't have the money, and when I have the money, I don't have the time! I'm always on the look out for future destinations, global shopping, and culinary opportunities.

mirrormirror
I run 'mirrormirror'- an online lifestyle boutique dedicated to helping you live happily ever after.
We spend ages looking for irresistibly beautiful and original items of fabulous quality made with infinite care and love by up-and-coming designers and craftspeople.
'mirrormirror' is not about big brands or bling or things you can find everywhere on the High Street Instead we look everywhere to find gorgeous and unusual items which will make life just a little more special.
In between cushions and bracelets, I am the mother of a nearly three year old daughter. I'd like to 'live my brand' and be the sort of mother who wears cashmere rather than snot and spit-up, but have so far singularly failed in this endeavour.
In November 2006 we moved to Seattle from Notting Hill in West London, when my husband took a job at Microsoft in Redmond. Now I'm doing up our a funny old Craftsman house which had been decorated by colour-blind people and running the business 'remotely' in between looking after my daughter.
Some days I think I could explode with stress, but mostly it's fun.
Welcome to my world.

The Happiness Project
I started out as a lawyer. At Yale Law School, I was editor-in-chief of the Yale Law Journal and won a writing prize. I went on to clerk for Justice Sandra Day O’Connor on the U.S. Supreme Court.
I had a great experience in law, but I realized that what I really wanted to do was to write. Since making the switch, I’ve published four books. I’m currently working on The Happiness Project. It will hit the shelves in late 2009 (HarperCollins).
Raised in Kansas City, I now live in New York City with my husband and two young daughters.
My only hobbies are reading and writing—and helping other people clean out their closets. I’m left-handed, terrible at sports, tone-deaf, a constant hair-twister, and afraid to drive. I talk to my parents and my sister all the time, and I live around the corner from my in-laws.

Susie Q | graphic designer
Hello! I live in Atlanta, GA with my handsome, funny husband and two beautiful, talented daughters. We’re well watched by our very best friends: one high-jumping Brittany and one super-sized Great Pyrenese mix.
This blog was born to put order to my voracious curiosity. When I’m not designing logos or web sites or doing mom-things, I pour over interior design books and magazines and blogs and 1st dibs and eBay. And I cannot resist the daily pull of craigslist. My obsessions are many: handsome interiors, interesting art, age-worn antiques, spankin’ new products, woven and printed textiles, books that smell of fresh ink or musty neglect, masterfully-crafted embellishment, anything a tad quirky, and ephemera too numerous to list.
I adore a striking, well-designed home. But, I believe the people { and even animals! } living there are far more vibrant, valuable, and interesting. And while I have been known to contemplate on a particular shade of brown or an especially lovely chair for hour-upon-hour { okay, let's say days-upon-days }, those things are a backdrop for the real beauty of an interior — its inhabitants living life to the fullest. In our household, we have great fun and a good bit of chaos in a setting that is, just sometimes, visually pleasing.
But yes, I continue to obsessively plan for the next living room makeover, den overhaul, kids' playroom, kitchen update... filling a removable hard drive with images, stuffing 3-ring binders with tear sheets and catalogs, and searching for new ideas everywhere. So, let’s have some fun sorting through photographs, sources, and ideas. And I’d love to hear from you about the eye-catching view in your world!

Remodelista
We are a group of friends who share eerily similar design sensibilities. After years of midnight design consultations, back and forth emails about the merits of a particular kitchen sink, and new store alerts, we decided to create an online design forum for sharing our ideas.
Most of our friends appreciate good design but don’t have the time (or the maniacal drive) to obsess about the details. Many welcome (beg for) guidance when it comes to putting together interiors. So we’re making it easy for our similarly inclined readers by offering an edited, screened, preapproved selection of design ideas.

Ecoble represents my first step towards building an online promotion and education of environmental topics and lifestyle.
It emphasizes both the value of green living and design as well as its appeal more broadly. Green doesn’t have to mean boring and environmental! Green news isn’t all enviro-hellfire and brimstone! Join us as we explore the good, bad, ugly and amazing from the natural sciences and ecological innovations.

Architecture for Humanity
Architecture for Humanity Los Angeles is a multi-disciplinary crowd of young professionals dedicated to advancing the humanitarian cause specific to the Los Angeles County region with respect to the greater worldwide community. The non-profit group works in congress with Architecture for Humanity International to develop solutions for global, social and humanitarian crises.
Envision the structure of the organization as a tree. The whole group is composed of smaller, organic parts… each component performing a function to help keep the organization going and growing. Project specific teams are created on a ‘as-needed’ basis to tackle issues facing our community. The functions of the teams vary in size, and may be dedicated to anything from fundraising to refurbishing an abandoned property. As projects are completed, members may choose to work on other projects or develop projects of their own. The organization is project-driven, rather than being chained to some overly important design philosophy or hierarchical structure. The goal of the organization is to lead by example - conveying the power and quality of collaborative, community-driven design in as varied methods as there are communities of people in Los Angeles.
Through the efforts of many teams branching out into these varied communities, AFH-LA can help sustain itself as a viable medium for social change. Through the interactions inherent to the collaborative design process, we can shatter the status quo and break down barriers by listening to and facilitating communities with what they need most.
